Charles Hoskinson, the founder of the Cardano network recently received harsh criticism from a Cardano Ambassador. A few days ago on Twitter, Fabian Bergen, a Cardano ambassador expressed his disgust over Charles Hoskinson’s Ask Me Anything session with BitBoy.
BitBoy is a famous media personality, known for shilling various crypto projects to his audience. According to Fabian, he had warned Charles Hoskinson to steer away from BitBoy and similar influencers. Fabian Bergen believes that the reputation of BitBoy would tint the image of the Cardano community.
Cardano’s Founder Defends His Actions
In response to the criticism, Cardano’s founder stated that he had personal dealings with BitBoy and the video dialogue they had was to promote the Cardano community. While Fabian saw the need to stay away from BitBoy whom he tagged a fraudster, Charles saw the interview as an opportunity to talk about Cardano’s mission, vision, and values.
Charles also stated that the AMA session was not an endorsement of BitBoy. According to the American entrepreneur, it is practically impossible for the team to have a purity test for all communication channels.
He believes that Cardano needs an army of promoters to change the world, and it is impossible to spread the word of Cardano to only individuals who are pure and blameless.
BitBoy on the other hand has been associated with numerous projects that often pull the rug on investors. The crypto influencer charges thousands of dollars to promote feeble projects.
Although BitBoy and his representatives claim they carefully vet projects before recommending them on YouTube and blog posts, the performance of projects vetted by his team proves that to be false.
In 2020, BitBoy promoted the $DISTX token on YouTube, calling the token “the most trusted low cap gem.” The influencer eventually changed the title of the video after the token crumbled.
He also promoted Zao Finance that same year and deleted the Tweet after the project rug pulled. Other projects promoted by BitBoy that rugged investors include; the ETHY token, Meridian Network, and CPH token.
