Twitter Wants you to Buy NFTs From Feeds

On the 27th of October 2022, Twitter announced the testing of a new feature called the NFT tweet tile for better marketing of NFT creations.

Now testing: NFT Tweet Tiles 🚀

Some links to NFTs on @rarible, @MagicEden, @dapperlabs and @Jumptradenft will now show you a larger picture of the NFT alongside details like the title and creator. One more step in our journey to let developers impact the Tweet experience. pic.twitter.com/AkBisciB1i

Twitter has been the home for marketing NFT in the social media space. Nearly every airdrop and white list require tweeting and retweeting in an early partnership with Rarible, Magic Eden, Dapper labs, and Jump. Trade, users, and NFT creators can now show a larger-than-normal picture of the NFT. This would be displayed along with certain metadata like the author’s name and the title of the piece.

The aim is to give easier access and better inclusion, allowing developers to impact the Twitter experience positively.

Though the test is restricted to the four projects mentioned above, it is not limited to any particular blockchain. It is blockchain-agnostic. But the new feature is currently just for marketing purposes, as the real trading transaction takes place on the minting site. One also doesn’t need a blue account.

But this isn’t twitter’s first dive into the NFT space. Among social media, Twitter and NFT or token marketers have been the best of buds. And with celebrities joining the mix, Twitter has been a necessary tool for every budding NFT investor. They took things a step further nine months ago. It was the profile picture verification feature.

This allowed collectors and NFT owners to just display their assets but to verify that it’s really theirs. So basic pictures profile pictures show the way they always do. When the NFT has been verified, the pictures showed up in a hexagonal border.

Before that, it was the ETH tip jar. This allowed users to tip their favorite content creators. Such celebrities as Snoop Dogg have gladly purchased NFTs to assist Ukrainian creators. And now the tweet tile has been released, not only would creators be able to show their wares to collectors, it is an opportunity to display their most-priced possession.

This shows that Twitter is constantly innovating in the NFT space, and with the purchase by Elon Musk, it’s hoped that such developments would continue.
