Jack Dorsey shared his thoughts on the 7th of November, pointing out that Twitter tracking, goes as far as tracking any shared links. Both the device that sharer and the recipient.
these tracking additions when sharing a tweet are a step backwards

He Tweeted that the additional tracking of shared tweets was a backward movement, adding that everything after the “?” on a Twitter share link was unnecessary. His tweet was an insinuation of the backward movement that Twitter was experiencing under the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk.
It seems Jack is unhappy about a lot of changes and policies Elon Musk is enacting. All these seemed to unfold during the back and forth between Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey the day before, about a feature called Birdwatch.
And that is not the only change Elon Musk is making. On the 5th of November, Elon Musk tweeted about the crisis facing twitter and the reduction of staff.
Regarding Twitter’s reduction in force, unfortunately there is no choice when the company is losing over $4M/day.
Everyone exited was offered 3 months of severance, which is 50% more than legally required.

He tweeted that, Regarding the reduction of Twitter’s workforce, there was little choice as Twitter was losing millions, daily. But as compensation, all the staff that were dismissed were offered a 3-months severance package, which is 50% more than legally stipulated.
The news didn’t sit well with Twitter users, which led to a torrent of replies, which questioned Elon Musk’s capacity to lead the organization.
In response, Jack Dorsey spoke on the resilience of his team.
Folks at Twitter past and present are strong and resilient. They will always find a way no matter how difficult the moment. I realize many are angry with me. I own the responsibility for why everyone is in this situation: I grew the company size too quickly. I apologize for that.

He said that the people who have worked at Twitter, both in the past and currently, are resilient people. And no matter the difficulty, they would always find a way.
He also took responsibility for the current situation, so he apologized, assuring them of his love and best wishes. Though it wouldn’t be mutual.
Fortunately, Elon Musk has been cleared of all insinuations or accusations surrounding the additional tracking feature on Twitter, as it was discovered months ago, during Jack Dorsey’s tenure as CEO.
Any user that is uncomfortable with any additional tracking on their activities, would do well to delete everything after the question mark “?”, Because according to Jack, that has no bearing on the message shared.
