S&P Dow Jones Indices and Kaiko have announced a combined digital asset index offering under the new S&P Kaiko Digital Asset Indices name. The move merges Kaiko’s crypto-native data infrastructure and exchange connectivity with S&P DJI’s global licensing, distribution and benchmark administration.

What the S&P Kaiko Digital Asset Indices suite includes

The rebranded suite brings Kaiko’s digital asset reference rates and multi-asset indices together with S&P DJI’s existing crypto indices on a single platform. The continued institutional push into digital assets has made robust benchmarks more important for asset managers, ETF issuers and structured product providers—a theme visible in moves such as the Trump-Backed World Liberty Wins Conditional OCC Approval for National Trust Bank.

S&P DJI and Kaiko say the suite is designed to meet demand for transparent methodologies, trusted governance and global distribution. That focus on global, 24/7 digital asset market infrastructure aligns with broader work on digital asset standards, including Thailand Advances Toward Global Digital Asset Standards as Bitazza Achieves Travel Rule Readiness with Sumsub.

Why the index consolidation matters for market participants

For institutional users, the co-branded suite is intended to provide benchmarks that combine rigorous index governance with Kaiko’s exchange connectivity and market data. In the United States, the development arrives as digital asset market structure and product rules continue to shift, as seen in cases such as the CFTC Orders Kalshi to Continue Offering Prediction Markets in New York Despite State Lawsuit.

If adoption grows as expected, the S&P Kaiko indices could become a reference point for new investment products. Asset managers and issuers will be watching whether the consolidated benchmarks gain enough acceptance to influence product design and liquidity in the coming quarters.
