BitMine Adds 12,532 ETH as Buying Nears Completion

BitMine has added another 12,532 ETH over the past week, lifting its total Ethereum position to 6,028,946 ETH, according to a Wu Blockchain report that cited the company’s disclosure. The firm also said its buying activity is now largely complete, a statement that likely matters more for market structure than for short-term price action.

Buying program appears near its stated limit

The latest purchase follows a broader accumulation strategy that has already been signaled publicly. Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee Says ETH Purchases Will Stop at 5% of Circulating Supply earlier set a clear outer boundary for the company’s Ethereum holdings. The new total of 6,028,946 ETH leaves the firm close to that threshold, which is one reason the disclosure described buying as largely complete rather than continuing indefinitely.

The scale of the holding makes the disclosure notable. BitMine’s position is one of the largest corporate Ether balances in the market, and its acquisition pace has been closely watched since the company began revealing the purchases. The previous move, BitMine Acquires 15,112 ETH, Nears 5% Ownership Goal, already showed the company moving toward its ceiling. This latest 12,532 ETH addition extends that trend without resetting the stated limit.

Market implications and what to watch

If the buying phase is genuinely nearing completion, the marginal bid that supported Ether during the accumulation period could fade. That does not mean a directional bearish signal by itself, but it removes one recurring source of large, transparent spot demand. Traders may now focus on whether other institutional buyers show similar conviction or whether the market absorbs the shift without a wider change in sentiment. Still, the market’s reaction may depend on overall liquidity conditions and whether Ether exchange reserves continue to decline, which would suggest demand remains broad even without BitMine’s direct spot buying.

The announcement also arrives while Ethereum ecosystem participants continue to emphasize operational security. For example, Lubin Says MetaMask Funds Unaffected by Incident highlighted that core infrastructure remained intact after a security scare, a reminder that corporate accumulation and custody security remain separate but closely watched parts of the Ether narrative. BitMine has not disclosed operational custody changes alongside the purchase, leaving the headline as primarily a supply-and-demand development.

Looking ahead, the next data point will be whether BitMine confirms a total halt or only a slowdown. Any further purchases above the 5 percent target would be a meaningful deviation from prior guidance, while a confirmed pause would mark the end of one of the largest visible Ethereum accumulation programs in the market.
