Akash Network Price Prediction: AKT Targets to 2030

Golden computing node in a futuristic facility; conceptual illustration of distributed compute.

Akash Network (AKT) traded near $0.6913 in CoinMarketCap’s October 16, 2026 snapshot, with approximately $206.61 million in circulating market capitalization and $6.38 million of 24-hour trading volume. Akash’s first-quarter report says its Burn-Mint Equilibrium (BME) economic upgrade went live on March 23, 2026, linking compute payments more directly to AKT demand.

Our base scenario places AKT at $0.60–$0.90 by the end of 2026, $0.70–$1.30 by the end of 2027 and $1.20–$2.80 at a 2030 reference horizon. These are conditional editorial ranges rather than market targets promised by the protocol. The bullish 2030 range of $4–$7 would need durable decentralized-compute demand, stronger revenue-related token flows, healthy liquidity and market capitalization several times today’s level.

The price-prediction framework

The central question is whether compute revenue translates into AKT token demand faster than dilution, selling pressure and competitive cloud prices evolve.

A price forecast based solely on “decentralized AI is growing” misses four constraints: the network must attract paying workloads; providers must earn enough to supply hardware; the settlement mechanism must retain an economic role for AKT; and token holders must not confuse gross payment activity with permanent supply destruction.

We therefore use three conditional cases for each horizon, model a possible circulating supply and calculate the implied market capitalization. Bear, base and bull are alternative editorial scenarios, not assigned probabilities. The model does not forecast a precise day or month when a price must be reached.

What Akash Network does

Akash operates a decentralized marketplace for compute resources. Providers offer capacity, customers deploy workloads, and a blockchain coordinates marketplace and settlement functions. The infrastructure can host traditional applications and AI workloads, including GPU-intensive tasks, but it still faces real-world constraints: availability, reliability, price, support, developer experience and data movement.

The Akash 2025 year-in-review reported 3.1 million created deployments across that year and roughly $3.15 million in USD network spend during the period. Those are issuer-published network metrics, not independently audited revenue. They should not be confused with tokenholder cash flow.

The Q1 2026 report said cumulative compute spend exceeded $5 million and described Homenode Beta and growing inference traffic through AkashML on OpenRouter. The report’s AI-token-throughput figure is a usage claim; without unit economics, it is not a measure of profitability or token burns.

AKT’s investment thesis therefore depends on actual paid compute activity, contract retention and token settlement, not merely app sign-ups or publicity around AI agents. BTC-Pulse’s Render price research offers a separate AI-crypto comparison, but the two assets have different token mechanisms and should not share a forecast template.

What AKT is used for

AKT is the native economic token of the network. Its roles include governance, staking or network-security participation and the settlement architecture created by BME. Its market price is also affected by the security and economics of the underlying Cosmos-based chain.

A critical distinction is the relationship among AKT, compute credits and provider income. Compute customers are not necessarily speculating on AKT when they use the network. They generally want a predictable dollar cost. Providers similarly prefer stable compensation rather than exposure to a highly volatile payment token.

That is the economic problem BME was designed to address. A previous settlement approach supported USDC payments, which reduced volatility for users but weakened AKT’s direct relationship with compute demand. The new model makes AKT conversion part of the workflow even when the customer experience is denominated in dollars.

How Burn-Mint Equilibrium changes the tokenomics

The official BME technical explanation describes a cycle: AKT is acquired and burned to mint ACT, a non-transferable USD-pegged compute credit; tenants spend ACT; at settlement the protocol burns the consumed ACT and mints fresh AKT for providers at the current oracle rate.

According to Akash’s April 1 report, the upgrade went live on mainnet on March 23, 2026 following the passage of governance Proposal 318.

BME links usage to token-market flows but is not a universal guarantee of net deflation. The total number of AKT destroyed and recreated depends on the actual USD amounts, timing, oracle conversion rates, vault balances, future incentives and transaction mechanics. A customer burn can be followed by provider-side minting; both legs matter.

Akash’s own example makes the conditional mechanism clear: if AKT rises between tenant conversion and provider payout, fewer AKT may need to be minted to cover the same dollar liability, leaving net destroyed supply. If the token falls, the direction of the adjustment can differ. It is therefore misleading to assume every dollar of gross compute spending becomes an equivalent permanent dollar of buy pressure or token burn.

BME must be assessed over a full economic cycle after provider settlements and other issuance.

Why the oracle is an important dependency

BME relies on AKT/USD pricing to determine conversion between AKT and dollar-pegged ACT credits. The official AEP-81 integration proposal describes a Pyth-based design with signed VAA price messages, Wormhole verification, a native oracle module and checks for stale data or unusual deviations. Its 30-minute TWAP is an averaging window, not a price-update interval; the design calls for sub-minute updates and governance-managed oracle parameters.

That architecture creates a new operational dependency: settlement quality depends on accurate, timely price data, and the protocol needs circuit breakers for extreme volatility or abnormal collateralization. The official BME write-up describes throttling and monitoring levels intended to prevent dangerous conversion conditions.

A valuation model should therefore include oracle and smart-contract risk. BTC-Pulse’s crypto-oracle explainer covers why freshness and price-source failures matter for DeFi. BME is a mechanism whose effectiveness must be observed, not a guaranteed increase in intrinsic value.

What drives AKT demand today?

Paid GPU and general-purpose compute

A larger number of paying customers can raise settlement activity. The relevant number is actual USD spend retained on the marketplace, not a social-media estimate of capacity or a token marketing headline.

AI inference and agent workloads

The network has positioned AkashML and Akash Agents as ways to reduce deployment friction. Customers still compare latency, uptime, data privacy and effective price with centralized vendors. Higher tokens processed per day can be encouraging while giving little visibility into margins without accompanying revenue data.

BME conversion flows

If paying demand rises and the burn/mint cycle operates as designed, AKT has a more direct role in marketplace settlement. The degree of net supply contraction remains conditional.

Staking and governance

Staking can lock tokens for security, but rewards and unlock behavior must be considered together. A high nominal yield does not by itself prove positive economic returns when the total supply and market price can change.

Circulating supply and emissions

CoinMarketCap currently lists about 298.88 million circulating AKT and roughly 388.54 million as maximum supply. A large maximum-supply figure does not tell us when, or whether, all those tokens will circulate.

Our stress-test supply assumptions are 302 million at end-2026, 314 million at end-2027 and 350 million at the 2030 reference horizon. These figures are editorial assumptions, not an issuer calendar. They deliberately avoid treating gross AKT burns as an exact forecast of permanently circulating supply reduction.

Future numbers could be lower if net burns outpace new distribution. They could be higher if other issuance or supply changes are greater than modeled. A different realized supply would require recalculating every target market cap.

This is especially important when an old chart or forecast compares prices from years with different circulating supplies. A token returning to the same price can require much more total market value if significantly more tokens circulate.

Recent market setup

CoinMarketCap’s separate detail observation at 2026-10-16T19:09:00.000Z showed AKT near $0.6894, a 24-hour range of about $0.6726–$0.7287 and a 24-hour change of approximately -0.02%.

The observed range indicates recent short-term volatility, not a mathematically validated long-term support or resistance. A trader could treat the edges as reference observations, but a support claim requires repeated reactions and a documented method.

This outlook uses daily price, volume and range rather than RSI, moving averages or breakout signals. A daily range alone cannot establish a long-term trend. Far-dated targets depend on adoption and market capitalization rather than one indicator.

AKT price prediction 2026: bear, base and bull

The end-2026 circulation assumption is 302 million AKT. Every price target below is multiplied by that modeled supply.

Bear case: $0.35–$0.50

Implied market cap: $105.7 million to $151.0 million. This case assumes AI compute demand slows, BME contributes less net token demand than anticipated, or risk appetite for smaller altcoins weakens.

The lower target implies about -49.4% versus the reference price. A sustained deterioration in paid workloads or protocol stability would make the bear case more credible.

Base case: $0.60–$0.90

Implied market cap: $181.2 million to $271.8 million. This range assumes the March BME activation remains stable, customer usage continues gradually and token economics do not deteriorate materially.

The lower end is slightly below today’s price; the upper end is about 30.2% above. A base scenario should not automatically mean a guaranteed gain.

Bull case: $1.10–$1.60

Implied market cap: $332.2 million to $483.2 million. Stronger usage reports, sustained liquidity and evidence of favorable net burn/mint behavior would be needed.

AKT price prediction 2027

We model 314 million circulating AKT.

Bear: $0.25–$0.55

This implies $78.5 million to $172.7 million. A weak cycle for GPU marketplaces or a compromised oracle/settlement reputation could keep the market discounting the network.

Base: $0.70–$1.30

This implies $219.8 million to $408.2 million. It requires Akash to demonstrate ongoing paid demand and distinguish its offering on usable economics, not merely the number of registered providers.

Bull: $1.70–$2.80

This implies $533.8 million to $879.2 million. At $2.80 the value would approach $879 million, well above today’s capitalization but not dependent on a return to the earlier $8.08 price peak.

AKT price prediction 2030

We use 350 million tokens of hypothetical circulating supply. This is a scenario stress test, not a projection from a verified official unlock schedule.

Bear: $0.15–$0.60

The implied market cap is $52.5 million to $210.0 million. This assumes the network struggles to defend margins and customer share as compute technology evolves, or BME provides less token value capture than bullish proponents expect.

Base: $1.20–$2.80

The implied market cap is $420.0 million to $980.0 million. This requires a durable niche in developer and AI infrastructure, positive security economics and evidence that token demand correlates with actual network use.

Bull: $4.00–$7.00

At 350 million circulating AKT, the implied market cap is $1.40 billion to $2.45 billion. The upper price represents about 913% upside against the reference quote, an aggressive scenario requiring a very different adoption and liquidity profile.

The bull case would become less credible if usage remained flat, governance materially changed BME or increasing supply canceled out net burn benefits. The long horizon adds exceptional uncertainty.

Price target and market-cap reality check

Horizon Case Price range Circulating assumption Implied market cap
2026 Bear $0.35–$0.50 302M $105.7M–$151.0M
2026 Base $0.60–$0.90 302M $181.2M–$271.8M
2026 Bull $1.10–$1.60 302M $332.2M–$483.2M
2027 Bear $0.25–$0.55 314M $78.5M–$172.7M
2027 Base $0.70–$1.30 314M $219.8M–$408.2M
2027 Bull $1.70–$2.80 314M $533.8M–$879.2M
2030 Bear $0.15–$0.60 350M $52.5M–$210.0M
2030 Base $1.20–$2.80 350M $420.0M–$980.0M
2030 Bull $4.00–$7.00 350M $1,400.0M–$2,450.0M

For example, a 2030 $7.00 price multiplied by 350 million circulating AKT equals $2.45 billion. The same price multiplied by today’s 298.88 million would be $2.09 billion, demonstrating why the supply assumption matters.

The current reference market cap is about $206.61 million. A 2030 $7 price would require a market roughly 11.9 times larger on our supply model. Comparing that scenario only with the historical $8.08 nominal peak would conceal how much valuation growth is needed.

Which catalysts should readers monitor?

The most useful evidence is a time series showing quarterly USD marketplace spend, repeat customer activity, provider supply quality, network reliability, fees, actual BME AKT burned, provider-side AKT minted and net changes in circulating supply.

The official Akash 2026 roadmap lists oracle, BME and programmable-compute milestones. An item marked complete in a roadmap is an implementation claim, not proof that adoption or economic benefits have already scaled.

AkashML usage and Homenode expansion could improve distribution and compute supply. Their effect on token value is conditional on paying customers and economically useful workloads.

Risks that can invalidate the forecast

Competition from centralized hyperscalers and other DePIN clouds can pressure margins. GPU markets change quickly as hardware models, power prices and software stacks evolve.

BME introduces pricing-oracle and conversion risks, while also making token economics harder to interpret from one gross burn number. Mainnet functionality and production demand are different milestones.

AKT liquidity remains modest compared with major L1 assets. Daily trading volume of roughly $6.38 million does not establish order-book depth or prevent sharp drawdowns.

Other risks include validator concentration, unexpected protocol governance, product execution delays, custodial market structure, vulnerabilities, token incentives that overwhelm paid demand and a broader crypto downturn.

Recalculate our forecast if any modeled supply assumption materially diverges, the reference price moves substantially, BME or protocol parameters change, net burn/mint metrics contradict the expected relationship, or adoption remains weak for several quarters.

FAQ

Can Akash reach $1 in 2026?

It is outside our 2026 base upper bound of $0.90 but below the bull-range lower bound of $1.10. A sustained move through $1 would need the stronger adoption/liquidity assumptions of the bull scenario rather than current price action alone.

Could AKT return to $8?

A return close to the historical $8.08 peak would imply a multibillion-dollar market cap at future circulating-supply levels. Our 2030 bull case stops at $7, not because $8 is mathematically impossible, but because the necessary adoption, valuation and net-token-economics assumptions become more demanding.

Is AKT deflationary after BME?

A burn occurs when AKT is converted into ACT, but providers can subsequently receive newly minted AKT. Whether net circulation contracts depends on the full conversion cycle and other supply changes. A usage-to-demand link is not proof of automatic perpetual deflation.

Does Akash compete directly with Nvidia?

Akash provides a marketplace and orchestration layer for computing resources, including GPUs that may be manufactured by Nvidia and other vendors. Marketplace services, chips and cloud operators occupy different portions of the value chain.

Does Coinbase’s or another exchange’s price prediction determine this model?

No. The targets are BTC-Pulse scenarios derived from explicit supply and market-cap assumptions. No competitor’s predicted price is copied.

BTC-Pulse Outlook

Akash offers a clearer token-economics experiment than many AI-crypto narratives: the project reports that BME went live and the network has a documented mechanism connecting marketplace spend to AKT settlement. Its value remains uncertain because token demand, net supply change and sustainable customer revenue are not the same measure.

The most defensible near-term outlook is conditional stabilization rather than an automatic return to historical highs. The 2030 bull case is possible only with substantial growth in paid compute and a supportive liquidity cycle. Investors should demand actual usage and net mint/burn data before treating a rising AI headline as a reason to extrapolate price.

This material is informational, not financial advice. Cryptoassets are volatile; future supply is modeled, not guaranteed; readers should verify current quotes and official protocol parameters, and assess their own risk tolerance.
