McFarlane toys have, in the last 30 years, been in action, rolling out several toys based on comic characters, artists, video games, and music.
The company, a subsidiary of Todd McFarlane productions, was founded in 1994 by comic book creator Todd McFarlane.
The announcement was made on their Twitter page on Thursday, October 27, revealing the launch of McFarlane Toys digital, an AAA digital collectibles platform, the first of its kind.
So as not to disappoint their customers, the company has designed a digital edition of each McFarlane toy to mirror the physical.
Therefore both toys will be identical in quality, size, shape, and color, down to the last bit and detail.
Further, they will still be at the same price; the only difference between them is the digital aspect.
As a bonus to all who purchase these digital collectibles, McFarlane Toys have launched a viewer app where the digital toy holders can explore their toy.
On the app, there is an opportunity to earn experience points and unlock rare collectibles as a reward for exploring the app.
All digital toys function as NFTs and can be stored in digital wallets. Also, the company plans to reward all users who spend a minimum of $100 at mcfarlanetoysstore.com in November if they use the promo code DIGITAL.
All who do will be eligible to receive at random one SPAWN LAUNCH SERIES; the top 500 to spend on toys will receive three such rewards at the random selection.
Presently digital toys are available for trading, buying, and selling on the platform marketplace powered by the Polygon network and all other affiliated platforms.
However, it may spread its tentacles into other platforms in the coming years due to widespread adoption.
