MVB Partners With Velocity to Join Visa Direct Stablecoin Settlement Network

Glowing XRP coin surrounded by bank, globe, Ripple, chart, and world-map graphics in a neon city.

MVB Financial Corp. is moving deeper into stablecoin-enabled banking through a new partnership with Velocity, joining a Visa Direct pilot that supports stablecoin funding and settlement for eligible push-to-card payouts. The companies announced the move in a PR Newswire release.

How the Visa Direct Pilot Brings Stablecoins Into MVB’s Settlement Flows

Under the arrangement, MVB will be able to use stablecoins to settle Visa Direct payouts, with digital-asset conversion, wallet connectivity and on-chain controls handled by licensed partners. The infrastructure is designed to sit beneath existing banking and payments workflows rather than operate as a separate digital asset product. That follows Visa’s broader reworking of its settlement partnerships, as covered in BTC-Pulse’s Visa Seeks New Stablecoin Settlement Partner After BVNK Moves to Mastercard.

What It Signals for Stablecoin Adoption by Financial Institutions

For MVB and Velocity, the partnership reflects a shift in how financial institutions are adopting stablecoins: rails that can move and deploy liquidity while preserving existing controls and customer relationships. The pilot arrives as U.S. policy around stablecoin issuers and foreign stablecoins is being reshaped, including proposed rules covered in BTC-Pulse’s U.S. Treasury Proposes GENIUS Act Rules for Stablecoin Issuers and Foreign Stablecoins.

The deal also fits the venture capital focus on stablecoin payments, even amid a broader crypto funding pullback. As BTC-Pulse reported in Crypto Funding Winter: Why Are VCs Focusing on Stablecoin Payments?, payment-focused stablecoin infrastructure is attracting attention because it can generate usage and revenue outside speculative trading.

What to watch next is whether MVB’s participation moves from pilot to broader availability and whether additional bank partners follow the same stablecoin settlement path.
