IoTeX has announced the release of mainnet version 17.1 as per the latest update on April 18.
The high throughput and scalable blockchain is built from scratch. It aims to take the Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine Learning to the next level while integrating better privacy via a reliable public digital ledger.
The release introduces better stability and performance enhancement. Specifically, the IoTeX mainnet version 17.1 will lead to faster database operations while concurrently improving snapshot performance. Moreover, the upgrade adds a crash log functionality.
In their grand vision, IoTeX developers’ primary objective is to allow ordinary people and businesses to take charge of their IoT devices.
The IoTeX architecture comprises a blockchain-to-blockchain mechanism and the main root block from where it connects sidechains.
The root block provides security and enables governance. On the other hand, each interoperable sidechain is unique and meant to serve the functionality of a given connecting application.
By early Q2 2022, the platform had connected over 9,500 Ucam and Pebble Tracker devices. The Ucam is a home-based camera with a blockchain-based identity leading to better privacy. The Pebble Tracker is a sensor capturing, in real-time, details such as weather, location, and motion. With a priority on security, Pebble Tracker allows users to take control and even monetize their data.
Data transmitted from the Ucam and Pebble Tracker devices can be transmitted to IoTeX devices.
As per an update on April 14, the Pebble Tracker is available at Mouser Electronics, one of the world’s largest gadget distributors, posting annual sales of over $3 billion.
