Mercedes-Benz NXT Partners with Mojito to Launch New NFT Collection
Mercedes-Benz NXT, the German automotive giant’s Web3 arm, is set to launch a new non-fungible token (NFT) collection in partnership with Mojito, a suite for creating NFT marketplaces. The collection, titled ‘The Era of Technology,’ marks the second installment of seven eras in the company’s ‘Icon’ series.
Exclusive Collectibles and Launch Details
A limited supply of 780 exclusive collectibles will be available starting May 21 at 18:00 CET. The mint will remain open for seven days, concluding on May 28. However, due to regulatory and taxation requirements, only collectors from the EU, Australia, Brazil, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, the U.K., the US, and Taiwan will be able to participate.
Discounts and Mint Passes for Existing Collectors
Minting is open to everyone, with the price set at 0.08 ETH. Existing collectors can enjoy two types of discounts:
- A 30% discount for collectors of previous core collections, including Maschine, Mercedes-Benz NXT Icons, and Mercedes-Benz NXT Eternities.
- A 15% discount for Superdackel holders.
Additionally, collectors of Maschine and Mercedes-Benz NXT Eternities will receive mint passes, which allow for one free mint (excluding gas fees) or a reduced price. These mint passes will be burned upon use.
The Second of Seven Eras
Mercedes-Benz NXT Icons celebrates Mercedes-Benz’s design heritage. The Mercedes-Benz design team, led by Chief Design Officer Gorden Wagener, created the items to tell a story across seven eras, from the present back to the beginnings of automotive history. The first era, “The Era of Luxury,” highlighted current car production and the brand’s design legacy in the digital age.
“The Era of Technology,” the second era, features six iconic cars produced from 2000 to 2017:
- Maybach Landaulet
- Mercedes-Benz S 560 Cabriolet
- Mercedes-Benz CLS 500
- Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6×6
- Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series
- Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé
The collection includes 62 distinct traits organized into five visible categories, allowing fans to own digital versions of their favorite Mercedes models.
Mojito’s Role in the NFT Launch
Mojito’s APIs and SDKs serve as the backbone of Mercedes-Benz NXT’s web3 infrastructure, blending blockchain, NFTs, and user-friendly interfaces. The platform combines the ease of web2 with the transformative capabilities of web3, streamlining tasks such as token creation, smart contract deployment, automated token distribution, and tiered discounts using tokengating. Mojito also integrated WalletConnect and Metamask for enhanced user experience.
Previous Collections
Mercedes-Benz NXT’s inaugural core collection was Maschine, created in collaboration with renowned artist Harm van den Dorpel and art collective Fingerprints DAO. This was followed by Eternities, targeted at a select group of Mercedes-Benz customers, and Superdackel, an homage to the iconic nodding dog dashboard toy, Wackeldackel.
