Theta metachain, scheduled to launch in December, will serve as an upgrade to the Theta blockchain, enhancing its scalability and speed.
It will also enable the platform to spread its tentacles into digital entertainment due to its fantastic scaling abilities and customized blockchain.
Meta Chain comprises the main chain and unlimited sub-chains. The main chain, in this case, is the Theta blockchain.
By latching on to Theta as a host, developers can quickly launch a subchain using a user-friendly SDK.
All launch partners of ThetaMetachain will have the opportunity to create and deploy sub-chains on the network autonomously.
Fuse Media, one of the first launch partners on Theta, joined in August 2022, and this partnership enabled them to make use of the Theta ecosystem tools like Video API, an innovative tool for delivering video streaming.
Before the release schedule for December, Theta launched a testnet version of the Meta chain on October 5.
That version saw the deployment of the first demo subchain for Replay, a dApp built on Theta, designed for tracking video and making payments.
There are also plans to release another upgrade by November 2nd.
The network will launch the Theta v4.0.0 via a hard fork, and its purpose is to upgrade the network’s mainnet and prepare it for the Meta chain launch in December.
There is no doubt that these two upcoming upgrades are a significant milestone for the Theta network and all platforms involved, bringing about healthy anticipation from users.
However, they can only wait it out and see how things unfold in the coming months.
