Hyperscale Data Completes 5,000 oz Silver Tokenization

Hyperscale Data, Inc. announced on October 16 that its indirect wholly owned subsidiary, Ault Global Commodities, Inc., completed the tokenization of 5,000 troy ounces of physical silver and listed the tokens on Ault Markets, which provides access to a decentralized exchange operating on the Ault Blockchain. The announcement follows the company’s October 8 launch of live, invitation-only DEX access and its broader strategy to combine physical commodity holdings with blockchain-based financial infrastructure. According to the company’s October 16 press release, the company expected trading to commence within weeks, making the announcement an initial listing milestone rather than a completed trading launch.

How the Silver Token Is Structured

Each token represents one troy ounce of silver, but the right to redeem for physical delivery is only available in 100-token increments. The physical silver represented by the tokens is held in secure vaults at The Wyoming Reserve, and the issuer describes the token’s economic exposure as tied to the spot silver market rather than a fixed dollar value. That distinction separates tokenized commodity exposure from reserve-backed stablecoin designs, where the goal is typically a stable dollar value rather than movement tied to a metal’s spot price—a useful reference point when examining the distinction between backing and redemption in stablecoins and tokenized funds.

The completed step does not mean a live trading market exists. The issuer says listing decisions and trading on the DEX are not controlled by any centralized entity, and access to Ault Markets remains in an invitation-only beta. The redemption unit of 100 tokens is separate from the possible trading unit, and the release does not specify minimum trade sizes, fees, liquidity commitments, or a specific trading launch date. The company’s statement describes the completed tokenization and listing as a milestone for Ault Global Commodities and the Ault Blockchain ecosystem, but it does not confirm that any external market participants have completed trades.

Trading Access and Launch Disclosures

The October 16 release describes an invitation-only beta, with eligible participants able to request access. Hyperscale Data has said it plans to introduce tokenized silver, gold, platinum and potentially other precious metals, and that it will continue evaluating additional tokenized real-world assets subject to legal, regulatory, custody and operational requirements. Those conditions add practical caution to the tokenized RWA trend, which is often discussed as a broad structural shift even when individual products are still pre-trading.

For now, the completed milestone is narrowly defined: 5,000 troy ounces have been tokenized and listed, but the release provides no assurance for future trading volumes, adoption or financial results. The company said it expected to announce further details on the anticipated start of silver trading, access requirements and additional tokenized assets as the initiatives progressed.
